The Biochemistry Department is dedicated to provide a rich educational environment for the undergraduate medical students, while keeping faculty research at the highest levels of excellence. The ultramodern Biochemistry laboratory is the pride of the department and is fully equipped with the state of the art facilities like PCR, gel electrophoresis, spectrophotometers, centrifuge, microscopes, high grade distillation units and incubators. Numerous collaborative projects highlighting modern research techniques like florescent microscopy and flow cytometry between the basic departments provides a basis for ground breaking discoveries that would not be possible in a teaching monoculture. An Outstanding group of technical and nontechnical staff support the department’s academic needs. Students are exposed to new techniques of dealing with diseases at the molecular level. As more and more discoveries are being made on the human body and especially on the physiological aspects students are encouraged to develop a passion for research.
